TOWN OF ELLINGTON

Board Meeting

April 26, 2017

6:30 P.M.

 

Chairman Joe Schumacher called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.

 

Board members present: Chairman Joe Schumacher, Supervisor Allen Kaddatz, Supervisor Prunty, Treasurer Sherri Fassbender, and Clerk Bonnie Fischer.  Others that attended were Jeff Miles, Harold Steenbock, Nels Lund, and Rodney Koleske.

 

ADOPT AGENDA:

Motion made by Chairman Schumacher to follow the posted agenda.  Supervisor Prunty seconded the motion. Ayes:  Schumacher, Kaddatz, and Prunty.  Motion carried.

 

Supervisor Kaddatz made a motion to accept the minutes as mailed to the Board members, and   Supervisor Prunty seconded the motion. Ayes:  Schumacher, Kaddatz, and Prunty.  Motion carried.

 

Jeff Miles came to request approval of the final plat of Grandview Terrace.  He went over any changes since last meeting with the Board, especially the ditching.  Chairman Schumacher made a motion to approve the final plat, per recommendation of the Planning Commission, of Grandview Terrace.  Supervisor Kaddatz seconded the motion. Ayes:  Schumacher, Kaddatz, and Prunty.  Motion carried.

 

Rodney Koleske came to question what the plans of the board are for the dead end portion of Market Road off of County Road S.  After discussion Allen suggested the board review the site when they do their road trip to determine 2017 road work.

 

Nels Lund brought in with a list of future trimming work in the Town of Ellington.  The Board will also look at this on their road trip to determine 2017 road work.

 

The board reviewed the pond permit for Craig Ihde on property off of Wege Road, and signed the permit.

 

The Board reviewed the request of Amanda Rucinski (Pine Crest Lane) for a variance to raise 6 laying hens.  Supervisor Allen Kaddatz made a motion, per recommendation of the Planning Commission, to approve the variance and request Amanda on April 1stof each year put in a renewal request, and this approval is for Amanda Rucinski only not transferrable.   Supervisor Prunty seconded the motion. Ayes:  Schumacher, Kaddatz, and Prunty.  Motion carried.

 

The clerk reported Lee Riehl was not happy with the fire invoice he received after burning his ditch area.  After reviewing the situation, Chairman Schumacher made a motion to eliminate the invoice.   Supervisor Prunty seconded the motion. Ayes:  Schumacher, Kaddatz, and Prunty.  Motion carried.

 

Bob Prunty is going to visit Dan Schroth on Rock Road to talk about an agricultural culvert by his sister’s property (pervious Tennie house).

 

BOR of is scheduled for May 10, 2017 from 6P.M.-8P.M., by appointment.

 

 

HWY Report:  Harold reported lawn mowers are ready and being used.  Kevin has been doing some patching and sweeping.

Fire Dept.:  No report

First Responders:  No report

Constable:  No report

Park:  No report

Planning:  Joe reported on the resolution and the remainder of items were discussed above.

Discussed the park walking trail from the Farmer’s Park to Stephensville and plan a public meeting of Stephesnville residents on June 28, 2017 at 6:30 P.M.

 

Al Van Straten and Joe Schumacher talked at a WTA meeting concerning possible fishing pier at the end of Kirschner Road.

 

REVIEW & APPROVAL OF INVOICES:

Motion by Chairman Schumacher to approve the payment of invoices.  Supervisor Prunty seconded the motion. Ayes: Schumacher, Kaddatz, and Prunty.  Motion carried.

 

There was no financial report given to the Board.

 

Next meeting of the Board is scheduled for May 11, 2017 (Thursday) at 6:30 P.M.

Motion by Chairman Schumacher to adjourn at 8:20 P.M. and Supervisor Kaddatz seconded the motion.  Ayes:  Schumacher, Kaddatz, and Prunty.  Motion carried.
